For the 7/8 Bambino level, it is largely instructional. It's a mix of coach and player pitch, and coaches are on the field with the players at all time. But there are umpires and the games are structured just like real baseball games. Coaches are on the field in order to help ensure players are positioned properly, etc.
Tryouts allow us to evaluate new players' ability to hit, field and throw, and to ensure that the all of the teams are structured evenly in the interest of fair play.
At tryouts, players will need to have: a glove, helmet, and bat (see homepage for 2019 bat rules)
At the start of the season, players will also need: a cup & baseball pants (batting gloves optional, but recommended)
For uniforms players will get: shirt, hat, belt and socks
There is one scheduled weekend practice and 2-3 games were week (could be any weeknight). On a light game schedule week, coaches may try to schedule a 2nd practice.
No upcoming scheduled events.
